New images showcase subtle design updates for the much-anticipated UNSW Health Translation Hub (HTH) building, which will bring together researchers, clinicians, educators, industry partners and public health officials to drive excellence and support the rapid translation of research, innovation and education into improved patient care.

The HTH will advance healthcare for communities locally and globally and drive progress for all. It will feature new partnerships with research and industry, bespoke education and student led spaces, agile workspace environments and multidisciplinary health clinics.

UNSW will connect with the community through art, exhibition and events space on the ground floor.

On floors one and two, UNSW will run research and teaching clinics across disciplines including mental health, optometry and allied health. State-of-the-art teaching facilities and clinical simulation rooms will create a hands-on learning environment for students, with a teaching gym, simulation pharmacy and blood collection facility.

Across the upper floors, flexible workspaces will enable different teams to work on key health projects like curing cancer, improving the health system, using data, ensuring equitable treatment, enhancing genomics and genetics, and improving health and equity across the lifespan.

An expansive 2,500 square metres of north-facing open public space at entrance level will help to create an engaging and welcoming place for staff, students, patients, industry partners and the public.

The building will have direct connections to the new Sydney Children’s Hospital Building B and Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre, and to UNSW’s Kensington Campus. Its adjacency to the Prince of Wales Hospital Acute Services Building will enable seamless integration with UNSW and the four hospitals at Randwick, helping to place the precinct at the forefront of international health research and education.

With major construction activity due to be completed in mid-2025, the UNSW HTH will open at the end of the year.
