Celebrating international nurses day
Today we celebrate International Nurses Day and recognise the invaluable contribution our remarkable nurses make every day to individuals, families and communities across NSW. An important part of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Stage 1 and Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer (SCH1/MCCCC) redevelopment is improving facilities for nurses to enhance patient care, including by supporting state-of-the-art technology, and by creating modernised spaces that enhance working environments. Enhancements to the future hospital were made with the input of clinical leads with relevant expertise to inform the design process. Nurses participated in regular project user groups, design jams, forums and workshops, contributing their knowledge and experience to help shape future hospital spaces. Staff have also had the ability to view the new prototype amenity, reigniting enthusiasm about the units and the departments that will be delivered as part of the redevelopment project.
To all nurses working with NSW Health, thank you for the difference you make to our communities, both in planning new facilities and caring for our patients.
