first crane welcomed on site

The first of two tower cranes that will help construct the new Sydney Children's Hospital and Minderoo Children's Comprehensive Cancer Centre building is now on site!

The 50-metre-tall crane was installed over a weekend in early April, arriving as a series of pieces and put together on site by a smaller mobile crane.  It will rise to 75 metres in height as construction of the building progresses.

Soon to be joined by a second crane, which will have a final height of a whopping 85 metres, the towering machines will enable materials to be efficiently and safely lifted within the construction site, and will be a feature of the Randwick skyline until early 2024.

Stay tuned for details of our Name the Cranes competition to be launched in May!
