Prince of Wales Hospital's Cental Sterilizing Services Department (CSSD) moved into their new state-of-the-art department on Monday 14 November, after occupying their previous space for 25 years.

The CSSD team, who are responsible for decontamination and sterilisation of all reusable medical devices used on the campus, are excited to be working in their new facility, which is a much larger space with more advanced technology.

“The new department has been designed with expansion as a central theme,” said Tim Cole, Manager, Randwick Campus Central Sterilizing Services Department.

“The new area is substantially larger and equipped with more technically advanced processing technologies and engineering infrastructure. This will enable the reprocessing of a far wider range of contemporary reusable medical equipment for the entire campus and off-campus affiliates.”

“The new CSSD will be one of the largest and most advanced reusable medical equipment reprocessing departments in the southern hemisphere and will enable the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct to align with international standards of best practice.”
